This track was originally released a few weeks ago but the final recording has arrived and it is sick. Didn’t Drake release an album this summer? What is this the 10th single to drop this summer that wasn’t even on the album? Got to give credit to the guy for continually coming out with new music. Containing another contagiously sick beat with Drizzy’s smooth lyrical flow , this track is hard to hate on. Check it out and enjoy.
Today crossover Rap n’ Roller K-OS released a new mixtape entitled “The Anchorman Mixtape.” If you’ve never heard of K-OS before he’s one of the more unique artists in the industry, blending all types of music from pop to indie rock to rap to electronica. K-OS isn’t just another hip-hop artist but a combination of multiple genres creating a sound enjoyable for everyone. This mixtape is sick containing sound clips of legendary Anchorman Ron Burgendy and appearances from Drake, Sebastien Grainger, and Cirkut to name a few. Check it out and enjoy.
As you all should know the self-proclaimed “Greatest Rapper Alive” has been incarcerated for the what seems like an eternity. However even jail cell bars can’t stop the artists within. Despite being in prison Weezy will be releasing a 6 song EP in a few weeks. This is the first track to leak off the EP and it’s straight fire; the beat on the track is enough to keep you listening even if there were no lyrics. If that weren’t enough the song also features a verse from Lil’ Wayne’s right hand man, the one and only Drizzy Drake. Turn up the speakers and enjoy!
In 2009 Drake signed on with Lil’ Wayne’s Young Money Entertainment label, and since then has become the focal point of the hip hop game. It is safe to say that no other hip hop/R&B artist is doing it bigger or better than Drizzy. His debut album “Thank Me Later” has been the most highly anticipated record of the year, and drops in just a matter of days. I’ve already heard reviews from tons of haters who claim the album doesn’t live up to the hype, however with a great blend of hip hop bangers and R&B jams this album easily surpassed my expectations. Below are three of my favorite tracks on the album, starting with “Show Me A Good Time.” This track became my favorite in just one listen, produced by Kanye West, the beat is SO fresh, but I wouldn’t expect anything less from Yeezy.
At first I didn’t think I would like this track but after playing through it a couple of times I’ve become obsessed. Featuring a verse from Young Jeezy and a sample from Aaliyah singing “Let Me Know” from her song “At Your Best,” Unforgettable is without a doubt one of the best songs on the album. The beat is slow and has a definite R&B feel to it, but Drake and Jeezy go in hard on this track and lyrics are just absolute fire.
“Thank Me Now” is the last song on the album and is the perfect ending for the record. Featuring another slow beat, Drake spits it clean and smooth showing off his skills as a lyricist. The string beats in the background are the perfect compliment for his voice, creating a sound that you never want to end. Enjoy!
