Friday night, new remix from DJ Chuckie, could you think of a better way to start the weekend? Chuckie remixes the new single from African pop star Mohombi. Never heard of the guy? Yea me neither! The original is decent at most, containing elements of R&B with African influences, but this remix takes it to a whole other level. Give this track a thorough listen and I guarantee it will be the party anthem for the rest of your summer.

As you all should know the self-proclaimed “Greatest Rapper Alive” has been incarcerated for the what seems like an eternity. However even jail cell bars can’t stop the artists within. Despite being in prison Weezy will be releasing a 6 song EP in a few weeks. This is the first track to leak off the EP and it’s straight fire; the beat on the track is enough to keep you listening even if there were no lyrics. If that weren’t enough the song also features a verse from Lil’ Wayne’s right hand man, the one and only Drizzy Drake. Turn up the speakers and enjoy!

It’s been a while since my last post but I have finally come across something worth listening to. This new track from Wale is the supposed single off his upcoming mixtape “More About Nothing” according to Pigeons and Planes. If you haven’t guess already, it contains samples from the Sam Sparro party track “Black and Gold” from back in 2008. Don’t know about you guys but I can’t wait for the mixtape to drop, hopefully there will be plenty of sick tracks just like this.

In this rock n’ roll mix from Diplo, we get equal parts fuzz, funk and soul. Mad Decent’s head maestro takes it back to basics with a laid-back blend of obscure nuggets and classic staples. Clocking in at just over an hour, the recording plays rough around the edges at times. In light of the rock theme, these auditory imperfections are surely served as the pièce de résistance. Looking forward to more good things from both Diplo and the Pomp & Clout crew.

A few days ago I got a hold of this live DJ set by Don Diablo on BBC Radio. The mix is a compilation of 40 of the most popular songs in a 20 minute span. Roughly every 30 seconds a new song is introduced, my favorite part being at the 4:30 mark in which he introduces an Oasis’ “Wonderwall” mashup reminding me of the legendary DJ AM, RIP. Despite being a radio rip and containing a few ad libs from the radio hosts, this mix is incredible and definitely worth downloading.
