Whether or not you thought Kanye killed his career this past year is no longer relevant. This song featuring not one, not two, but 5 artists symbolizes Kanye’s dominance on the scene. Good Friday featuring Common, Pusha T, Kid Cudi, Big Sean & Charlie Wilson was released on Kanye’s blog, along with a bunch of other star-studded tracks released on.. wait for it.. FRIDAYS. Who knows what the highly anticipated album will be called. If the title is as, pardon the pun, GOOD as this track then Kanye has done it again.

I thought this was a joke. It’s not. It reminds me of the days when you’d see those fake files on P2P sites like Napster that were labeled something like “Blink 182 featuring Eminem, Britney Spears, Metallica and Fred Durst”. This one is real, but Bon Iver is signing and not rapping… I guess he’s saving that for the Blood Bank pt. 2 mixtape.

Finally, something worth writing about. The mau5 is back at it here on this new cut scheduled for release on Beatport sometime in the next week. Building on the tough electro sound he developed on “Ghosts n’ Stuff”, the mau5 never fails to raise expectations. Looking forward to his 3 night stint in NYC for Halloween weekend.

This track was originally released a few weeks ago but the final recording has arrived and it is sick. Didn’t Drake release an album this summer? What is this the 10th single to drop this summer that wasn’t even on the album? Got to give credit to the guy for continually coming out with new music. Containing another contagiously sick beat with Drizzy’s smooth lyrical flow , this track is hard to hate on. Check it out and enjoy.

Yesterday Kanye dropped the “Power” remix featuring Jay-Z and Swizz Beatz. This track is so dope, Yeezy and Jay absolute slay this beat. Swizz Beatz goes over the top with this one, throwing in a sample of Snap’s “I’ve Got The Power” at the 3:20 mark. Even if you’re not a Kanye fan there is no way you can’t love this remix.

Yesterday UK electro DJ Hervé released a brand new remix of Metallica’s “Enter Sandman.” The remix is awesome containing drum solos and heavy bass sporadically throughout the heavy rock classic. Imagine if Mariano Rivera came out to this version of the song, Yankee Stadium would turn into a New York City nightclub, but that just might happen come late October.

Although Emarosa is a band that is constantly lumped in with much of the autotuned-neon-breakdown-garbage on Rise Records (their label-mates and Warped Tour peers), their style is MUCH different. Vocalist Jonny Craig has one of the most recognizable and soulful voices I have ever heard, hands down. With the release of their second full-length, entitled simply: Emarosa, the group has inched closer to the mainstream with stronger melodies, cohesive song structures and more fitting production than their past efforts. [The Drop] Clockwork // "Airflow"

Clockwork is an LA-based producer/DJ who’s been on the radar for several months now. His unique blend of electro/house and ballsy reworks of pop joints such as M.I.A.’s “Steppin’ Up” and Snoop’s “That Tree” have been earning him constant looks and listens in the bloghouse scene. With his “Elevated” EP scheduled to drop Aug 14, we look forward to seeing him take it to the next level with a handful of fresh new jams. Currently I’m trying to decide which I prefer, Clockwork’s original “Airflow” or Valerna’s remix. Check em out below and let us know what you think:

Currently cutting their full length debut with Roadrunner Records, Young the Giant, the artists formerly known as The Jakes, have developed what I call “that new Cali sound”. Like their California predecessors like The Eagles, Jackson Brown, and Phantom Planet, the 21 and under Newport Beach residents bring an eclectic unique sound that comes together as their own self described “sun soaked indie rock”. All of their songs vary from funky piano indie pop to progressive airy guitar driven anthems. Here is an example of their wide repertoire in their energy filled new track “My Body”.

As you all should know the self-proclaimed “Greatest Rapper Alive” has been incarcerated for the what seems like an eternity. However even jail cell bars can’t stop the artists within. Despite being in prison Weezy will be releasing a 6 song EP in a few weeks. This is the first track to leak off the EP and it’s straight fire; the beat on the track is enough to keep you listening even if there were no lyrics. It’s been a while since my last post but I have finally come across something worth listening to. This new track from Wale is the supposed single off his upcoming mixtape “More About Nothing” according to Pigeons and Planes. If you haven’t guess already, it contains samples from the Sam Sparro party track “Black and Gold” from back in 2008. Don’t know about you guys but I can’t wait for the mixtape to drop, hopefully there will be plenty of sick tracks just like this.

In this rock n’ roll mix from Diplo, we get equal parts fuzz, funk and soul. Mad Decent’s head maestro takes it back to basics with a laid-back blend of obscure nuggets and classic staples. Clocking in at just over an hour, the recording plays rough around the edges at times. In light of the rock theme, these auditory imperfections are surely served as the pièce de résistance. Looking forward to more good things from both Diplo and the Pomp & Clout crew.
